Largest Hot Springs I've Seen

Glenwood Springs, Colorado, United States

Dirk and I reached Glenwood Springs by car, after hiking to Hanging Lake in the afternoon. Hanging Lake was a beautiful and popular hike. The lake has a water fall and a long driftwood floating in the middle. One can walk from the shore onto this driftwood to the middle of the lake. Although water was not deep, I only walked 30 feet or so before turning back, fearing a loss of balance or a misstep.

In the evening we soaked in the giant warm pool in the Glenwood Hot Springs resort. I've never seen a pool this large anywhere, it seems to go on for a thousand feet or more. Many people just stand around in the warm water, it's a giant social scene. By night fall we camped in the National Forest outside of town, then headed to Aspen in the morning.
