We took a train to Interlaken in Switzerland to do some hiking in the Alps. However, the season was a bit early, the snow hasn't melted much in the high mountains. We took a cable car from Grindelwald, then hiked toward an Alpine Lake. There were great views of the glaciated Eiger and Junfrau peaks of the Bernese Oberland range. We didn't go far before turning around due to rain.

We took a train toward Germany, but stopped in Zurich for a few hours. This is a very pretty city, lunchtime bands playing classical music were in full swing, as was the torrents rushing down the river due to spring snow melt. We went to the shores of Lake Zurich and enjoyed the peaceful vista.
