Glacier National Park

Glacier National Park, Montana, United States
Thursday, July 4, 1996

Drove with my friend Wei during Independence Day holiday. We were planning to visit Banff in Canada, but first we stopped at Glacier National Park. We drove through the park from east to west, and found the scenery along the Going To The Sun Road to be stunning. The glacial lakes were impressive, the shapes of the mountains full of curves and soaring lines. Afterwards we headed west to Flathead Lake, another large beautiful body of water, then to Rodgers Pass, and sources of Missouri River near Helena. The Montana country has wide open skies but well-vegetated woods and grassland that seem hospitable. We expected more rugged mountains like in California but that wasn't the case most of the time.
