Lake Kawaguchi

We stayed in a hot-springs resort hotel. When we arrived we saw a "welcome" sign outside the front door with a list of guests' names! Wei's name was written in English, amist other names written in Japanese. I was amazed how many courses a Japanese dinner can have, it was maybe over 30 courses of small-portioned dishes. We drove around the beautiful lakes in verdant surroundings, but Mount Fuji was always in the fog. The highways crossing mountains usually have three different alternatives: a modern long tunnel connecting to huge straight overpasses, a 20th century short tunnel connecting to many switchbacks, and an ancient route with way more switchbacks going over mountain passes. When we stopped at a gas station, an old lady attended to us and asked if we were Chinese, in Japanese. I learned Japanese in childhood but I only remember a little. Unfortunately I couldn't really respond properly.
